Prestige of many stalwarts at stake in second phase

Jamshedpur, Dec 5: Campaign at 13 Assembly seats of Kolhan for second phase of Jharkhand Assembly elections came to an end on Thursday. The candidates took to door-to-door campaigning on the last day. Polling will take place on 7th December from 7 am onwards. Maximum number of Assembly constituencies will go to polls in this phase.
The canvassing through loudspeakers and publicity vehicles stopped at 5 pm in Jamshedpur East and Jamshedpur West Assembly constituencies. In these two constituencies, polling will take place from 7 am to 5 pm. In other constituencies, polling will take place till 3 pm. Hence campaigning ended at 3 pm.
Today being the last day, all candidates, their supporters and political leaders held public meetings and also addressed press meets.
In the second phase, Booth App will be used in three Assembly constituencies of Jamshedpur East, Jamshedpur West and Chaibasa for the first time. The App will be used in 10 constituencies across Jharkhand.
The candidates whose fate will be decided in the second phase include CM Raghubar Das, rebel BJP leader Saryu Roy, Ramchandra Sahis, BJP state president Laxman Giluwa, Salkhan Murmu, Champai Soren, Joba Majhi, Banna Gupta and JB Tubid. Liquor ban will be prohibited for 48 hours in all the constituencies which include Baharagora, Ghatsila, Potka, Jugsalai, Jamshedpur East, Jamshedpur West, Seraikela, Kharswan, Chaibasa, Majhgaon, Jagannathpur, Manoharpur and Chakradharpur.
