Jamshedpur: Jeevan, the suicide eradication centre in Jamshedpur, conducted a session on identification of symptoms of depression and their curative processes. The session was conducted among the Jawans and their families at the Army Camp in Sonari. Women participants who attended the session numbered 100.
The session was conducted by eminent TMH psychiatrist Dr Manoj Sahu. Dr JR Jain and Brigadier K Vaidyanathan were present during the 90 minute session.
Dr Sahu said that tension experienced over a long period of time led to depression. He informed that guardians of persons suffering from depression or the persons themselves could contact Jeevan on helpline numbers 9297777500 or 9297777499 or personally visit the office at 25, Q Road in Bistupur.
“The services are free and utmost secrecy is maintained. Remember, mental health is as important as physical health,” he said.
