Gamharia: Padma Shri award winner Jamuna Tudu was accorded a warm reception by social organization Lakshya Jharkhand on her arrival at Gamharia.
Jamuna Tudu was presented the fourth highest civilian awarded, the Padma Shri by the President of India Ramnath Kovind on March 11 for her contribution on the social sphere. She is fondly called ‘Lady Tarzan’ by her innumerable admirers in and around her village. She has been dedicatedly working for conservation of forests while facing and overcoming several odds including those of the wood mafias.
Lakshya Jharkhand secretary Rashmi Sahu headed her organization’s team to welcome Jamuna Tudu with a garland and flower bouquet. Among the many members and Gamharia residents present on the occasion were Amit Singhdeo and Manjit Das.
