Jamshedpur Nov 16: IGU Eastern India Amateur Golf Championship Round 2 and Quarter finals played in one day showed the true mettle of the players.

Kurush Heerjee, who has been keeping low for some time finally came up with three victories against the opponents in Round 1, 2 and Quarter Finals with grit and determination. Defeating Vignesh Thakur in the morning, he easily fought the tough match against Mohd.Wasil from Delhi Golf Club a seasoned player, to get into the Semi Finals. Kurush at one time three down against Wasil struggled hard and won the match on the 18th hole after two birdies on the 17th and 18th with one UP.

As regards other results, Girraj Singh Khadka, of Railways from Jaipur defeated Mansukh Sandhu from Chandigarh in the second Round and came up victorious against Viren Thapar also from Chandigarh with a score of 2 & 1. Aditya Chahal from Delhi defeated Divesh Rana in 2nd round and won the match against Pranav Mardikar from Poona with 3 & 2.

Anant Singh Ahlawat from Panchkula defeated Aaron Rockey from Baroda in the Second round and won the match against Railways Amit Kumar with a score of 4 & 3.

Tomorrow Girraj Singh Khadka will face Aditya Chahal at 7.00 am and Kurush Heerjee will be playing against Anant Singh Ahlawat at 7.10 am. Both matches are bound attract good gallery specially with Kurush being the Local favourite.
