Jamshedpur, Aug 11: Socio cultural organization Har-Har Mahadev Seva Sangh will host the country’s leading Sufi singer Kailash Kher and his 19 member band of Kailasha on Monday August 12 who will present songs in tribute to Lord Shiva. August 12 being the last Monday of the holy month of Sawan, the Sangh has made special arrangements at the Sakchi Gurudwara Ground where arrangements for 30, 000 devotees have been made under a huge, waterproof canopy. Consecrated food, tea and water will be provided to all devotees coming for the annual Bhajan Sandhya. This will be the 18th year of the Sangh’s hosting the Bhajan Sandhya on the occasion of the last Monday of the month of Sawan.
A 19 feet tall Baba Barfani (ice Shiva Lingam) will be one of the major attractions. Two gates, also under waterproof cover will be the entry points for devotees and music lovers. The total length of Kalimati Road has been decorated with eye-catching light patterns giving the scenario a gala festive look. Visitors to the Bhajan Sandhya will first take the blessings of Baba Barfani before taking their seats for the musical function. Special arrangements have been made for women devotees who will be guided to their seats by women volunteers. CCTV cameras have been put up at various points of the pandal for control and security purposes. The organizers have sought the support of the district administration to conduct this huge devotional programme.
As per Har-Har Mahadev Seva Sangh’s tradition, this year the Sangh Ratna Seva Samman will be awarded to popular surgeon Dr Amitabh Bandyopadhyay who has conducted more than 25 thousand surgeries till date and to the late Ghazal maestro T Babu Rao posthumously. Earlier the Samman had been awarded to persons excelling in the fields of social service, sports, education, environment, medicine, literature, journalism, arts, law and political contribution to society.
The Bhajan Sandhya programme will commence at 6 pm with the presentations of devotional songs by artiste B Krishna Murty and his team.
It will be for the first time that eminent Sufi singer Kailash Kher will be performing in Jharkhand along with his band, Kailasha. It may be mentioned here that Kailash Kher formed his band three years ago on his birthday. Ever since, he has nurtured talents that he spotted and picked up from under the shadows of nonentity and with love and dedication has nurtured them under his tutelage to make them performers of the highest genre. He continues to be on the hunt for such unpolished gems to groom them into effective musicians.
The organizer will also give away Lifetime Achievement Awards to persons excelling in various fields of pursuit.
