Jamshedpur: The poll play scenario is warming up as the Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha – Prajatantrik (JVM- P) have already named their candidates for the Jamshedpur West Vidhan Sabha constituency. Banna Gupta will once again hold the Congress prospects while AAP will be gauging the poll water depth for the first time with Shambhu Chowdhary as its candidate. JVM –P is fielding Pankaj Saw in its attempt to bolster its Jharkhand Assembly strength.
But the BJP decision makers are in a ponderous mood in so far as putting the right candidate to catch the bus to the Vidhan Sabha. Of course, BJP legislator and Minister Saryu Roy’s name is in the reckoning in a big way but then, who knows which way the political ball will swing! Right now, what fence sitters know is that the ‘people who matter’ are still sitting over the issue of naming a candidate for the Assembly hustings of 2019. The decision may come with a pleasant heave of breath or a gasp, whichever way the weathercock points.
Meanwhile, the Congress, JVM and AAP camps have gone into high drive mode and executives, members, grass root level workers and their individual pockets of voters have entered the breakneck race to the Vidhan Sabha seat from this Jamshedpur West Vidhan Sabha constituency.
Naturally the adrenalin ducts have started working overtime. In fact, such is the initial enthusiasm that the first timer in the fray, AA Party has opened its election office for its constituency candidate which is already a beehive laden with executives and workers excitedly planning and working out election strategies. How sweet the honey would be, however, rests on the mood and expectations of the voters.
All candidates are confident as are their party camps, executives and members. If only if BJP announces its candidate’s name, the political cauldron will become hotter and the contest would become more exciting.
