Jamshedpur, Dec 2: A class V student, identified as Samridhi Kumari, died after being crushed by a speeding tanker at Dimna Road on Monday.
Sources said the mishap occurred when Vivek Kumar, a resident of Vasundhara State, Mango and father of the deceased, was going to drop his daughter at RVS Academy, Mango. Near Shiroman Nagar gate, the tanker knocked down Vivek’s scooter. Samridhi, riding pillion with her father, fell on the road. Before she could get up, the tanker ran over her head, causing her instant death.
Police seized the tanker and registered a case against its driver.
The school organized a condolence meet after which all students were sent home.
