Jamshedpur, Dec. 22: Sikhs in Jamshedpur are observing the martyrdom day of Chaar Sahibzaade and paid them rich tributes at a function held at Station Road Gurudwara. Under the aegis of Station Road Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, a religious movie Chaar Sahibzade was screened at Jugsalai Gurudwara.
On Sunday, a special kiosk was set up at Jugsalai to distribute literature on the life of Chaar Sahibzade. On the occasion, Sardar Shailendra Singh, Mehendrapal Singh, Kamaljeet Singh were present.
People of the Sikh community along with people in large number gathered at the venue. Several Gurudwara around the city held special prayers to remember the Chaar Sahibzade.
It may be noted that the youngest sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Sahibzada Baba Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Baba Fateh Singh who were born at Anandpur Sahib were martyred by sealing alive in a wall after they were produced before the faujdar, Wazir Khan, who had just returned from Chamkaur with his feudal ally, Nawab Sher Muhammad Khan of Malerkotla.
Wazir Khan tried to lure the Sahibzadas to embrace Islam with promises of riches and honours, but they spurned the suggestion.
Giani Gurpratap Singh said, the main motive behind organizing the event is open was to inform about the martyrdom to the masses.
Members of the committee also distributed booklet depicting the life of Sahibzadas.
