Jamshedpur, Dec 14: Independent candidate Saryu Roy visited Mochi Basti in Zone No 8, Birsanagar, on Saturday and assured local residents that he will not let a single house be demolished. He went to the locality after few local residents informed him that a team of officials had visited the area for measurement with the intention of carrying out anti-encroachment drive in the coming days. Local police station officials have intimated the residents about the anti-encroachment drive. The residents said they apprehended demolition of their houses by the district administration, said Roy.
Roy assured the residents that he will not allow anyone to demolish their houses. He said he would take necessary initiative to stop the demolition drive.
