Three more deaths sweep corona tally up to 33 in Jamshedpur
Jamshedpur/Ranchi, July 31: Six corona patients succumbed to the virus in Jharkhand on Friday, July 31. Death toll in the state stands at 110. 861 patients tested positive for the virus in the state taking the tally to 11349. 167 people have recovered and were discharged from the hospital. Three people died of the virus in Jamshedpur while three succumbed to the virus at RIMS Hospital in Ranchi. Of the three positives that died at RIMS, one was a resident of Doranda in Ranchi, one was a resident of Hazaribagh and one person belonged to Garhwa.
COVID-19 infection accounted for three more deaths in Jamshedpur today. Two infected patients died in the course of treatment at Tata Main Hospital while one succumbed at MGMC Hospital.
The first casualty was a 26 year old man who had previous ailments and was admitted to TMH with breathing problems. He died today. He was a resident of Kadma Bhatia Basti.
The other person to succumb to COVID infection was a 51 year woman of Telco Manifit. She had breast cancer. A 52 year old woman of Chhapraiya Mohalla in Jugsalai died of coronavirus infection while undergoing treatment at MGMC Hospital. After the death of a 10 month old infant, the 26 year old young man of Kadma Bhatia Basti was the youngest to die of COVID-19 infection. With today’s death count of three persons, the total coronavirus infection deaths shot up to 33.
In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally has crossed 1900 mark.
105 new cases reported on Friday, July 31 taking the East Singhbhum tally to 1914 while 21 people who recovered from the disease were discharged from the hospital on Friday.
The district administration spokesperson informed that 105 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Friday. All the positives have been admitted to COVID-19 wards.
Other Jharkhand positive cases were reported from Bokaro 29, Chatra 46, Deoghar 131, Dhanbad 15, Dumka 41, East Singhbhum 105, Garhwa 3, Giridih 154, Godda 20, Gumla 36, Hazaribagh 7, Jamtara 14, Khunti 3, Koderma 43, Latehar 30, Lohardaga 3, Pakur 7, Palamu 8, Ramgarh 19, Ranchi 83, Sahebganj 6, Seraikela 15, Simdega 23, and West Singhbhum 20 taking the state corona tally to 11349.For 18 days in a row over 200 cases have been reported every single day in the state.

The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi’s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease. The state has imposed lockdown till July 31. Religious places, malls, saloon, spas, schools, colleges will remain closed till July 31.
The Jharkhand government has ordered an extension of lockdown related restrictions in the state outside containment zones, up to August 31, due to COVID-19 cases.
The order will come into effect from August 1. Meanwhile, Jharkhand government issued measures for the implementation of interstate quarantine protocol, to all Additional Chief Secretary, DGP, Principal Secretary, IG and Deputy IG.
The order said that “All economic activities permitted prior to this order shall remain permitted.”
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state is 6894 and fatalities at 110 while 4314 people have recovered and discharged from the hospital. 2245 corona patients tested positive are migrant workers who returned to Jharkhand after May 1.
