1,222 new COVID 19 cases, 10 deaths in Jharkhand
Jamshedpur, Sept. 19: Coronavirus cases have climbed to 11,692 in Jamshedpur with 179 new cases reported on Saturday, September 19. 31 workers at GST Bhawan in Bistupur have tested positive for the virus.
Positive tally has climbed to 11, 692 while the death toll reached 289 with 4 deaths on Saturday.
212 people recovered of the virus on Saturday taking the total recovery to 8979 while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 2424. The district administration spokesperson informed that 179 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Saturday. East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 59998 test per million. The mortality rate in East Singhbhum stands at 2.5 % while recovery rate is 78%.
With a total of 1,222 fresh cases of Coronavirus being detected across the state on Saturday the overall tally of Covid-19 patients in Jharkhand has reached to 69,860. During the day 12 deaths were also reported including 4 from East Singhbhum, 2 each from Ranchi and West Singhbhum districts and 1 each from Chatra, Dhanbad, Latehar and Ramgarh districts after which the overall death count has gone upto 615 in the state. The increase in fatalities has increased the mortality rate to 0.88 percent. As per the information provided by the health department the number of active cases in the state was 13,548 while number of cured and discharged cases stood at 55,697. The total number of death caused by Coronavirus in the state stood at 615. On Saturday a maximum number of 284 cases were found in Ranchi followed by 179 in East Singhbhum, 92 in Godda, 91 in Bokaro and 90 in Saraikela districts (top five districts). A total of 1,274 number of people were also cured and discharged from various dedicated Covid-19 facilities during the day including 228 from Ranchi followed by, 212 from East Singhbhum, 199 from Ramgarh, 98 from Saraikela and 89 from West Singhbhum districts. Despite the rampant rise in Coronavirus cases across the state the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has improved significantly and has once again gone above 75 percent mark to currently stand at 79.72 percent in Jharkhand. So far in the state 16,85,702 samples have been collected out of which 16,70,943 have been tested and 16,01,083 have turned out to be negative.
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi’s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease.
The Jharkhand government has extended the coronavirus pandemic-triggered lockdown in containment zone in the state till September 30. However, all the economic activities in the state are allowed outside containment zones.
The hotels, dharmshala, lodge and guest houses reopened after around 6 months following SOPs and guidelines of the government. Restaurants and shopping malls also resumed after a long time.
