Jamshedpur, Sept. 28: Coronavirus cases continue to rise in Jamshedpur. The positive cases have climbed to 13,498 in district with 301 new cases reported on Monday.
Positive tally has climbed to 13,498 while the death toll has reached 315 with 4 deaths on Monday. 157 people recovered of the virus on Monday taking the total recovery to 11164 while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 2019.
The district administration spokesperson informed that 301 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Monday.
With a total of 1,508 fresh cases of Coronavirus being detected across the state on Monday the overall tally of Covid-19 patients in Jharkhand has reached to 81,417.
During the day 9 deaths were reported including 4 from East Singhbhum, 2 from Ranchi and 1 each from Garhwa, Giridih and West Singhbhum districts after which the overall death count has increased to 688 in the state. State education minister Jagarnath Mahto tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday and was taken to Rajendera Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) in Ranchi after doctors treating him felt his blood saturation level was a concern.
According to the medical officer of the Nawadih community health centre, Dr Kameshwar Mahto, a district health department team reached Mahto’s residence at Bhandaridah at Chandrapura Block after he complained of breathing problems accompanied by bouts of coughing and vomiting.
“A rapid antigen test revealed he was Covid positive after which it was decided to shift him to RIMS for better treatment,” said civil surgeon Dr A.K Pathak.
The mortality rate among the patients currently stands at 0.84 percent. As per the information provided by the health department the number of active cases in the state was 12,126 while number of cured and discharged cases stood at 68,603. The total number of death caused by Coronavirus in the state stood at 688. On Monday a maximum number of 301 cases were found in East Singhbhum followed by 286 in Ranchi, 139 in Lohardaga, 114 in Koderma and 89 in Godda (top five districts). A total of number of 1,806 people were also cured and discharged from various dedicated Covid-19 facilities during the day including 696 from Ranchi, 165 from Koderma, 157 from East Singhbhum, 93 from Bokaro and 90 from Dhanbad districts. Despite the rampant rise in Coronavirus cases across the state the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has improved significantly and has once again gone above 80 percent mark to currently stand at 84.26 percent in Jharkhand. So far in the state 21,63,641 samples have been collected out of which 21,53,151 have been tested and 20,71,734 have turned out to be negative. The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi’s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease.
The Jharkhand government has extended the coronavirus pandemic-triggered lockdown in containment zone in the state till September 30. However, all the economic activities in the state are allowed outside containment zones.
