Jamshedpur, June 1: Nine new corona virus positives were reported in Jamshedpur on Monday, June 1, taking the total cases in East Singhbhum district to 114. Bagbera, Mousabani and Telco reported one case each in morning hours while another six cases came in late in the evening. The evening cases came in from Sonari, Potka, Bagunnagar, Baridih, Giridih and Barigora.

All the nine have travel history and were in institutional quarantine ever since their arrival in the district. The nine patients have been admitted to Tata Main Hospital COVID-19 wing. All the patients detected today are migrants.

The cases in Kolhan have moved beyond 130 which is a matter of serious concern considering the relaxation by the central government in the lockdown. Jharkhand government issued notification regarding the relaxation. In a tweet on Monday, June 1 afternoon, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said to follow social distancing norms, do not move out of the house without masks, ensure elderly and children remain inside the house and also wash hands with soap and water for 20 second. Total cases in Jharkhand has reached 660 mark with 24 cases alone on Monday. Along with 9 cases in Jamshedpur, 4 cases came in from Koderma while two cases each were reported from Ranchi, Hazariabagh, Garhwa, Lohardaga and Sindega while one case came positive from Gumla.

DC Ravi Ravi Shanker Shukla confirmed the detection on nine new positives in the district and said that the administration is working hard to make Jamshedpur free from coronavirus. The administration has urged people to cooperate with the district administration in preventing the possible spread of corona virus. DC said that people should not move out of homes unnecessarily, they must use a mask, wash their hands regularly with soap or use a sanitizer. Do not spit here or there.

Earlier 10 cases were reported in Jamshedpur on May 31 while 43 cases came in on May 30.
