Baharagora registers 78.19 per cent turnout, Chakulia sees lowest polling

Jamshedpur, May 13: Jamshedpur witnessed 67.17 per cent polling on May 12. Baharagora Assembly constituency recorded 78.19 per cent polling. Here the maximum voter turnout was recorded at booth number 143 in Upgraded Middle School, Karkata, where 89.52 per cent voters exercised their voting rights. The lowest voter turnout (58.17 per cent) was recorded at booth number 47 in Manohar Lal Plus Two High School, Chakulia.

In Jamshedpur, female voters outnumbered their male counterparts as they registered 56.27 per cent presence in urban areas and 73.50 per cent in rural areas. Male voters’ turnout in urban and rural areas was 58.43 and 74.57 per cent respectively. In urban Jamshedpur, polling average was 57.04 per cent while in rural parts, it was 74.04 per cent, sources said.

In Ghatsila, the polling percentage was 74.55. Here maximum turnout was seen at booth number 139 in Panijia. A total of 94 per cent voters turned up here. In Potka, 72.14 per cent voters exercised adult franchise. Maximum voting percentage (89.75) was recorded in Chatro (booth number 130).

In Jugsalai, 69.57 per cent voters participated in polling. Booth number 68 in Pilabuni recorded 92.28 per cent voting.

In Jamshedpur East, 58.80 per cent voting was recorded with booth number 190 in Burmamines registering 81.91 per cent polling.

In Jamshedpur West, 55.95 per cent voters turned up. Maximum polling took place at booth number 133 in Dhatkdih.
