Jamshedpur : East Singhbhum district administration is all set to place a high security arrangement with a special focus on eve teasing during Ramnavami. The idea is to prevent eve-teasing cases and ensure that nobody is abused. Ladies constables will also be deployed in some of the sensitive areas marked by the police to tackle with the eve teasers. They have been instructed to take action immediately if any instance of eve teasing found around them.

The policemen in plain clothes, with baton and torch will move aroundto guard the girls. Directive was issued to all the senior police officials in thedistrict to instruct all police stations to prepare a list of
‘habitual offenders’ in their respective areas along withrecommendations for action against them as per law.

School students driving bikes without traffic norms and performingstunts would henceforth would be levied maximum fines (ranging betweenRs 3000 and Rs 4000) and simultaneously parents of these studentswould also be informed by district police.
District traffic police were asked to undertake drives against use ofmobile phones during driving and levy maximum fines from offenders (Rs1000 for each offence).

“The sudden rise in the road mishap is a matter of great concern andsteps are being taken to curb the menace. We will also see to it thatrash-driving is checked with immediate effect, and for this we will look into exactly how many cases related to the road accidents havebeen registered and if the drivers who are accused of causing themishap are being convicted,” said an official.

The deputy commissioner has also asked akharas committee to submit a list of such areas with hanging electricity wires to help State Electricity Board officials in installing guard wires on such points. The administration is serious in ensuring first aid and ambulance services during the festivity and the procession.

Directives were issued to all the Akharas committees to strictly abide by the rules laid out in their licences especially pertaining to use of loudspeakers (public amplifiers).

The DC has directed all the departments concerned to gear up for the festival and ensure all arrangements to the Akhara samities before the festival gets start. At the Sakchiisland, a watchtower would be erected to keep vigil on the movement of Ram Navami processions passing through the area.
