Jamshedpur, Nov 25: The cremation of deceased B Shyamu Rao, a resident of Block # 3, Shastrinagar was suddenly shelved at Bistupur Parvati Ghat cremation ground when the deceased’s widow arrived with a posse of Bistupur police to prevent the funeral rites. The widow alleged that her husband Shyamu Rao had been killed by his family members.
It may be mentioned here that the couple had been staying separately since the past four years. They had, however, not been divorced. She accused her in-laws of not wanting them to live together. The police took the body of deceased B Shyamu Rao in their possession and sent it for autopsy to ascertain the cause of death. Shyamu had died at the Tata Main Hospital on November 24. Rao’s family members had brought his body for cremation at the Parvati Ghat today.
