Jamshedpur, Sept. 29: Even 24 hours elapsed, the police have not been able to solve the loot incident at Uliyan in Kadma nor the criminal who escaped while attempting to commit at a flat in Bhalubasa under Sitaramdera police station area on Monday afternoon. The police are busy scanning CCTV camera footage after the incidents of the loot incidents.
According to information, the two criminals who entered into the residential flat of Ashok Sharma, owner of Packers & Movers Company at Sitaramdera were brothers and former employees of the said company.
The OC, Sitaramdera police station, Anjani Kumar said that the two criminals who had made an attempt of loot at Sharma’s house were identified as Sonu Kumar and Monu Kumar, and are brothers.
“The hail from Jehanabad district in Bihar, both the brothers used to work in the company till a year ago, but quit the job for some reason. The duo be aware about the money of Sharma and therefore they had conspired a plan to commit the loot,” said Kumar.
Significantly, the criminals who had carried bomb-like things in a bag that had been seized by police were not the explosives.
“During investigation we found that the 10 bombs like things that we had seized from the possession of one of the criminals who was caught were crackers. They had wrapped rope around each of the crackers so as to look like the bombs,” said the OC.
Kumar said they have sent a team out of state to trace Manu who has absconded from the crime scene. He pointed out that Sonu Kumar who is under their custody is not able to tell the whereabouts of his brother.
City SP, Subhash Chandra Jat said that they are getting the CCTV footage scanned and are hopeful of cracking it shortly.
” We are investigating the incident. We have made some progress in the loot case of Kadma, but it is not the time to disclose anything further as it may affect the investigation,” claimed the City SP.
It may be mentioned that twin incidents of loot shocked the city on Monday. Two separate gangs of criminals entered the houses of two businessmen family at Sitaramdera and Kadma police station area this afternoon and spread panic.
In one of the incidents, a two-member criminal gang made an attempt to loot valuables from the house of Ashok Sharma. They took family members under control and threatened them with bombs at Bhalubasa under Sitaramdera police station area about 12. 30 pm on Monday. The first incident took place at the flat of Ashok Sharma, owner of a packaging-cum-transport company at Line No 5 in Bhalubasa under Sitaramdera police station area at about 12.30 pm. In another incident a four-member gang of criminals decamped with ornaments and other valuables worth lakhs of rupees. The criminals took the family members at gun-point in Uliyan under Kadma police station area at 2 pm on Monday and went on a looting spree.
In the Kadma, the criminals succeeded to run away by locking the victim family in a room after committing the loot, in the Sitaramdera incident one of the two criminals was caught by the neighbours while the other one managed to run.
