Jamshedpur, Aug 19: District level Chief Minister Invitational Football Tournament organised by Jharkhand government’s tourism, art, culture, sports and youth affairs dept under the aegis of East Singhbhum district administration, kicked off at Tinplate Sports Complex, Tinplate on Monday. The first match of the three-day knock out tourney was played between Patamda and Bodam block in boys’ category. Team Patamda scored the only goal of the match in the first half and continued their lead to win the first match by1-0. In the girls category Jamshedpur team defeated team Potka by 3-0 in the match decided through tie-breaker. In the boys category team Musabani and Dumaria got walk over while team Musabani also got a walk over in girls category match.
Earlier, Additional deputy commissioner (East Singhbhum) Saurabh Kumar Sinha inaugurated the tournament in presence of guest of honour block development officer (Jamshedpur) Malay Kumar. Also present were Vasant Srivastav, Mangal Pradhan, Manoj Kumar, teacher Ram Swaroop Yadav, Veer Pratap Murmu, Nitin Kumar Sharma, Kamlesh Kumar, Maghiya Soren, football coach Ami sen Sundi, Chand Mardi and others.
The semifinal and final match of the tournament will be played on Wednesday, August 21 followed by prize distribution ceremony.
