Jamshedpur, Sept. 29: Inner Wheel Clubs of Jamshedpur observed World Heart Day virtually on Tuesday, September 29. All the four Inner Wheel Clubs including Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur, Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur East, Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur West and Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur Zest were part of the virtual conference administered by District ISO Alokanand Bakshi. District Chairman Dr Sheela Ranjan and Past Association President Prabha Raghunandan were the guiding force behind the event.
Keynote speaker for the event was famous cardiologist Dr Vijaya Bharat, Ex-HOD, Cardiology, Tata Main Hospital.
“We are living in a world where lifestyles are swiftly changing, heart problems are becoming more complex and physicians need the latest technologies to provide the best care for their patients,” said Dr Bharat.
She made the people aware about the healthy lifestyle and eating and how one should take care of their heart.
“Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the number 1 cause of death globally. CVDs are a group of disorders of the heart and blood vessels and include coronary heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, rheumatic heart disease and other conditions,” Dr Vijaya added.
She also informed about Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) through a video presentation. More than 125 people attended the online meet.
It is worth mentioning that Inner Wheel Clubs have been providing helping hand in these tiring times. On World Heart day they installed six hands free sanitizer dispenser, two oximeters, two glucometers and four oxygen concentrators at various places across the city. The clubs have also opened Oxygen for the needy.
On the occasion online quiz competition ‘Recipe for Health Heart’ was also conducted. The winners were felicitated by Avinash Dugar of La Gravitea café.
