Jamshedpur, Dec. 6: The world is changing rapidly and to cater to that change the methods of teaching and our schools have to adapt or change accordingly. From the impact of technology, to the ways in which today’s children learn differently to the changing dynamics of assessing a child, every aspect of education is changing. It is therefore imperative that educators meet with one another and discuss what to foresee in the future and how to prepare for it.

TheTeacher.in, a not-for-profit initiative from Greycaps, in association with the Hill Top SchoolILL, Jamshedpur will be holding the first TheTeacher.in Educators’ meet for heads of institutions and teachers on 8th December, 2018 on the theme ‘Future Ready Schools’.

Keynote speaker for the event will be internationally acclaimed educator G.Balasubramanian, former academic director CBSE, who is a luminary in Indian education.

G. Balasubramanian is a doyen of school education in India. He has held several positions of leadership at CBSE, including Director Academics. He was the brain behind the introduction of several innovations at CBSE, which included frontline curriculum, Communicative Approach to Language Teaching, Information Technology, Alternatives to Homework, etc. He is also an author, poet and a sought-after speaker at education conferences world over.

Speaking about the meet, Puneeta B. Chouhan, senior educationalist and Principal of Hill Top School, Jamshedpur said, “The Educators’ Meet is a think tank, launched for the first time this year, with the city of Jamshedpur, which is a hub of school educators. While the world is grappling for solutions to the problems of today, this forum is going to envision Future Ready Schools. With a mastermind like G Balasubramanian to show the way, there will be a thrust and a direction to look forward to.”

Speaking on the same, Rashmi Furtado, Senior Editor of TheTeacher.in said, “We are planning TheTeacher.in Educators’ meet across India. The focus is on non-metro cities, which can easily adapt to change and leapfrog to the future. The first city that was chosen in India for this meet, was Jamshedpur, given the futuristic approach most schools here adopt and the openness of the educators to have such discussions. This will be followed by cities like Mangalore, Ooty, Belgaum and Vadodara. The same will also be held in Kuwait, Tokyo and Dubai in the next academic year where education bodies have invited TheTeacher.in”

TheTeacher.in which was created on the advice of our beloved former President Dr.Abdul Kalam, during its many interactions with schools has received feedback and found that most heads of institutions want a healthy discussion on the future. While there are many conferences and meets for educators very few address the future.
