JFC-NEUFC match at JRD Stadium on Dec 1
Jamshedpur, Nov. 29: Jamshedpur FC will be playing their tenth match of the Indian Super League (ISL) 5 against NorthEast United FC at JRD Tata Sports Complex on December 1. Placed fourth in the points table with 14 points, Jamshedpur FC won’t take the John Abraham owned side lightly which has been exceptional in this tournament. NorthEast United FC has 17 points from 8 matches winning 5 of them.
Tata Steel owned Jamshedpur FC has been training hard since their remarkable victory over defending champions Chennaiyin FC at the furnace on November 25. Except a recovery day (Nov 26) and day off (Nov 27), JFC sweated it out at the newly built practice facility at flatlets on November 28 and 29.
The new practice ground at flatlets has been built at a cost of Rs 1 crore. The facility has been designed keeping in mind all the standards of ISL. Bermuda grass has been laid to ensure that players do not face injuries.
During the training session coach Cesar Ferrando was in attendance with focus on goal scoring. After JFC’s two back to back wins at JRD Tata Sports Complex, the fans are very much excited for the match against NorthEast United FC and time will tell whether Jamshedpur FC can score a hat-trick of wins at the furnace.
In the last encounter at Guwahati on October 25, JFC played a 1-1 draw against NEUFC. But this time the situation is reversed as JFC has scored two big wins (against FC Goa and Chennaiyin FC) at the furnace.
The December 1 match becomes much more important from Jamshedpur FC’s point of view. The hosts will be looking to continue their winning streak to stay afloat on the points table and of making their chances to qualify for the playoffs.
On the other hand, John Abraham owned NorthEast United FC arrived in the Steel City on Wednesday and are staying at Hotel Centre Point. The team will indulge in practice session on Friday morning at Tata Football Academy ground.
