26 boys selected each from under 13, 15 and 18 age group
Jamshedpur, Jan. 9: Jamshedpur Football Club (JFC) launched its second feeder center at the Tinplate ground on January 9. R. N. Murthy, managing director, Tinplate Company of India Ltd was the Chief Guest and Harjit Singh, DGM (HRM & SS) was the Guest of Honour for the event. The parameter of selection was based on two aspects: Physical – Height, weight and date of birth and Technical – Ball passing, receiving, releasing, running with or without the ball, decision making, discipline and motivating each other
The selection process was held from 15th November to 21st November 2018 under the aegis of Kundan Chandra. The panel consisted J. Behra, Ashok Tudu, Rashid Mehandi and Miller Raut.
Over 614 boys from different areas of Jamshedpur such as Tinplate, Bhalubasha, Cable, Birsanagar, Telco and Parsudih attended the trials. 26 boys were selected each from the age group of under 13, under 15 and under 18.
On the opening of the feeder center, Jamshedpur FC’s CEO, Mukul Choudhari, was ecstatic, “After Armoury ground this becomes our second feeder center. We are building up an ecosystem of football that will make sure we produce a lot more local talent for Jamshedpur Football Club.”
Ravi Radhakrishnan, Chief Aviation and Sports who was also present at this event seemed delighted that said, “I am extremely excited to see Jamshedpur FC is spreading its wing to all parts of Jamshedpur. I am hopeful that with regular use of the Tinplate ground more football stars will develop from this area”.
