Jamshedpur, Sept. 16: As Jamshedpur FC’s pre-season conditioning continues in full swing, the players took to the Furnace ground for the first time this season. They sweated it out on the field from 8 am today. Local lad Gourav Mukhi was also part of the training session at JRD Tata Sports Complex.
As the team gears up for its third ISL outing, Head coach Antonio Iriondo is leaving no stone unturned to take the boys to the pinnacle.
Star striker CK Vineeth along with all the Spanish players including Tiri, Piti, Noe Acosta, Sergio Castel, Aitor Mounroy were part of the training session including seniors Subrata Paul, Memo and local promise Mobashir Rahman.
The players practice session included running drills and stretching exercises.
Later during the day, the players along with coaching staff took the stadium tour and High Performance Centre.
As several new players are a part of the squad the JFC management decided to take them on a stadium tour.
Some players including local lad Mobashir Rahman got the chance to use the Cryotherapy Chamber at High Performance Center (HPC).
A Cryotherapy chamber is used to relieve muscle pain, sprains and swelling after tissue damage. The temperature inside the chamber can be lowered to a -180°C depending on the type of injury. There is a VO2 Max that can measure the maximum amount of oxygen a person can utilise during intense exercise. The High Performance Centre, the first of its kind in the state, for professional sportspersons at JRD Tata Sports Complex is complete with psychologists, nutritionists and high-tech equipment.
“This is a very good way to cool down your body after an intense workout or a high intensity training session. It is great to see Jamshedpur having such awesome facilities for us athletes,” said Keegan Pereira.
The squad also looked at the facilities inside the stadium and was thrilled.
