Jamshedpur, Aug 14: Deputy Commissioner Suraj Kumar has ordered all BDOs, Medical Officers to use Rapid Testing Kits and conduct COVID-19 tests at Block levels on August 18. The meeting was held through video conferencing.
The rising number of COVID cases in East Singhbhum district has assumed disconcerting proportions and the administration is concentrating all its efforts towards controlling the dangerous spread.
DC Suraj Kumar stated that an exhaustive drive would be carried out on August 18 by the district machinery to check for COVID infections with Rapid testing Kits. The Kits are being distributed to all Block offices to facilitate rapid checks. The DC directed that patients staying in isolation centres should be tested timely and all updated data be recorded correctly. All containment zones should be bounded by bamboo poles and posters put up accordingly. All norms should be adhered to in the containment zones. The DC further directed the officials concerned to make summarized data of discharged patients so that the beds in dedicated hospitals, COVID care centres and isolation centres could be put to use for more patients.
DC Suraj Kumar also directed that contact tracing should be carried on without letup to trace people who had come in contact with infected persons.
The video conferencing was held from the District Collectorate auditorium where among others SSP M Tamil Vanan, ADC Saurav Kumar Sinha, Civil Surgeon Dr RN Jha, Jamshedpur CO Anurag Tiwary, Executive Magistrate Savita Topno and other senior officials were present.
