Jamshedpur, Sept 16: East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla convened a meeting with the representatives of various political parties to discuss issues pertaining to the renaming and shifting of polling booths.
Addressing the meeting, the DC said the polling booths in Baharagora, Ghatsila, Potka and Jugsalai assembly constituencies were proposed to be shifted. He said the copies of the proposal were made available to all political parties through their representatives. He further explained the reason for shifting of the booths and inquired if any political party had objections to the same.
The representative of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha expressed objection regarding the shifting of booth number 112 of Baharagora constituency (room number 1). He said the party would present its reason for objection after physical inspection of the booth on 23rd September. He consented to the shifting of 12 other polling booths. Other parties gave consent to the shifting of all 13 polling booths.
As per the proposal, booth number 252 situated at Hindustani Sangh Middle School (Southern part) is to be shifted to Community Centre, Garabasa as per a proposal presented by the BJP representative. All parties approved the proposal.
