Tata Steel employee among 3 corona deaths in Jamshedpur
Jamshedpur/Ranchi, Aug 2: The coronavirus fear is increasing in Jharkhand with state reporting record positive cases and causalities with every passing day. At least five people succumbed to the virus in Jharkhand on Sunday, August 2 taking the death toll to 120. On the other hand 446 new cases were reported in the state on Sunday taking the tally to 12634. Three people died at Tata Main Hospital in Jamshedpur while one death each was reported Dhanbad and Pakur. Jamshedpur today recorded three more coronavirus positive deaths all in the course of treatment at Tata Main Hospital. A 57 year old Tata Steel employee in the company’s Lime Plant attended duty till July 25. He developed fever and developed breathing problems. He was immediately admitted to TMH for treatment where he died on August 2 evening. he was a resident of Sidgora and left behind three daughters and a son.
Another COVID-19 patient under treatment at TMH died today in the evening. he too had fever and breathing problems. The 56 year old Refugee Colony resident was a diabetic. He was admitted to the hospital on August 1 and passed away in the evening today.
The third victim to succumb to the pandemic was a 68 year woman and a resident of Sakchi. She was admitted to TMH on July 31 with complaints of cough, cold, fever and pneumonia. She died in the morning today.
In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally has crossed 2100 mark.
123 new cases reported on Sunday, August 2 taking the East Singhbhum tally to 2113.
The district administration spokesperson informed that 123 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Sunday. All the positives have been admitted to COVID-19 wards.
Other Jharkhand positive cases were reported from Bokaro 9, Dhanbad 7, East Singhbhum 123, Garhwa 2, Giridih 20, Hazaribagh 11, Koderma 56, Latehar 16, Lohardaga 2, Pakur 4, Palamu 3, Ramgarh 8, Ranchi 123, Sahebganj 6, Seraikela 19, Simdega 31 and West SInghbhum 6 taking the state corona tally to 12634.
For 20 days in a row over 200 cases have been reported every single day in the state.
Five deaths have been reported in Jharkhand on Sunday, August 2.
The death toll in Jharkhand stands at 120 while corona positive tally has climbed to 12634.
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi’s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease. The state has imposed lockdown till July 31. Religious places, malls, saloon, spas, schools, colleges will remain closed till July 31.
The Jharkhand government has ordered an extension of lockdown related restrictions in the state outside containment zones, up to August 31, due to COVID-19 cases.
The order will come into effect from August 1. Meanwhile, Jharkhand government issued measures for the implementation of interstate quarantine protocol, to all Additional Chief Secretary, DGP, Principal Secretary, IG and Deputy IG.
The order said that “All economic activities permitted prior to this order shall remain permitted.”
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state is 7759 and fatalities at 120 while 4682 people have recovered and discharged from the hospital. 2245 corona patients tested positive are migrant workers who returned to Jharkhand after May 1.
