Jamshedpur/Ranchi, August 11: Six people died of coronavirus in Jharkhand on Monday, August 10 taking the toll to 197.
Four deaths have been reported from Jamshedpur in East Singhbhum district while one person succumbed to the virus in Ranchi and Deoghar.
591 fresh cases were reported in the state on Tuesday taking the state tally to 19469, till the filing of this report.
682 people have recovered and were discharged from various COVID hospital’s across the state on Tuesday. 10555 people have recovered in Jharkhand till date.
In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally has crossed 3000 mark.
188 new cases were reported on Tuesday, August 11 taking the East Singhbhum tally to 3112.
The district administration spokesperson informed that 188 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Tuesday. All the positives have been admitted to COVID-19 wards.
With 4 deaths in Jamshedpur on Tuesday the death toll in East Singhbhum district stands at 92. 106 patients have died across three hospitals in the city including TMH, MGM and Tinplate Hospital.
A 75 year old Telco Barinagar resident who was admitted to TMH with breathing problems passed away in the early hours on Tuesday during treatment he was admitted to the hospital on August 4. A 74 year old Baridih Bhushan Colony resident too passed away at TMH in the course of treatment. He was admitted to the hospital on July 13 with breathing difficulty and throat pain. He also suffered from chronic ailments. A lady, resident of Gadra under Parsudih police station who had gone out for ablutions on Sunday last was run over by a train. The deceased’s swab was sent for tests. The report that arrived on Tuesday stated she was Corona positive. Her body was sent for postmortem after arrival of the report.
Other Jharkhand positive cases were reported from Bokaro 10, Chatra 2, Deoghar 10, Dhanbad 17, Dumka 4, East Singhbhum 188, Garhwa 8, Giridih 7, Godda 8, Gumla 12, Hazaribagh 12, Khunti 7, Koderma 20, Latehar 7, Pakur 2, Palamu 128, Ramgarh 20, Ranchi 103, Sahebganj 11, Seraikela 13, Simdega 10 and West Singhbhum 30. The state corona tally has climbed to 19507.

The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi’s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease. The state has imposed lockdown till July 31. Religious places, malls, saloon, spas, schools, colleges will remain closed till July 31.
The Jharkhand government has ordered an extension of lockdown related restrictions in the state outside containment zones, up to August 31, due to COVID-19 cases.
The order will come into effect from August 1. Meanwhile, Jharkhand government issued measures for the implementation of interstate quarantine protocol, to all Additional Chief Secretary, DGP, Principal Secretary, IG and Deputy IG.
The order said that “All economic activities permitted prior to this order shall remain permitted.”
