Jamshedpur, September 11: Seeing sorry situation of eye donation in Jamshedpur, CII-Young Indians along with ‘Roshni’ organised an interaction session and rally at Agrasen Bhawan in Sakchi on Sunday in order to make the citizens aware of eye donation.
On the occasion District Governor of Lions Club and active member of Roshni, Rajnish Kumar informed the gathering about the importance of eye donation.
He informed that eye donation situation in Jamshedpur is very sad. ‘Every year 8 to 10 people donate their eyes in Jamshedpur and total of 121 people till date have donated eyes and only eyes of 151 people had their eyes transplanted’, added Rajnish Kumar.
He went onto add that, with every single eye donation eyes of two people can be restored. At the interaction session, Members of Red Cross Society including secretary Vijay Singh, general secretary of Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry Prabhakar Singh, Alok choudhary, Vikas Singh and others were present.
After the interaction session, an eye donation awareness rally was flagged off from Agrasen Bhawan by mountaineer Premlata Agarwal. The rally traversed through Aambagan Road to Sakchi roundabout.
The people participated in the rally with closed eyes tying black clothes so that they can experience the situation of a blind man.

The rally saw the participation of members of Young Indians, Roshni, Marwari Yuva Manch, Marwari Mahila Manch, Inner Wheel Zest, Inner Wheel East, Inner Wheel West, Red Cross, Femina, Lions Club, Grace India, Voice of Humanity along with others.
The people shouted slogans and distributed pamphlets among the citizens. A nukkad natak was also staged by the members of Marwari Yuva Manch at Sakchi roundabout.
