“With rising cases of thefts and burglaries becoming a regular affairin the city, the administration must appoint extra security personnel and nights guards as a part of preventive measures.
It is time for the police to focus attention to curtail the increasing cases of burglary in the city. Thefts not only in residential areas but also in commercial establishments have been reported. Specially constituted patrolling squads should be been deployed under the limits police stations,” said a resident.
It may be mentioned that figures show a substantial increase in the number of murders, thefts and robberies taking place across the city from past one month.
Nonetheless the rising cases of crime in the city have forced the business community to raise voice against the detracting law and order situation for additional security arrangements. The police are yet to nab the offenders, but the business organisations have expressed concerns.
“ The police have tried to beef up the security arrangements in the city carried out arms checking drive at strategic locations but nothing substantial has come out of his initiatives. Additional police force need to deploy in areas like Mango, Jugsalai, Pursudih which are prone to such activities. Our city has the reputation of being the safe but in few days crime graph has witnessed a sudden rise.
It is high time that police identifies such criminals and action is taken against them. It is the duty of every police station to keep a vigil look on crime cases in their areas and take action against the culprits,” said a social worker.
