Jamshedpur: Burglars decamped with cash and ornaments worth over Rs 12 lakh from a house at Dhatkidih locality under Bistupur police station area late last night. The burglary took place while the owner of the house, Fahim Khan, had gone along with the family to his in laws’ house in the same locality.
In this connection, the police have registered a case on the basis of an FIR lodged by Khan and have started an investigation. Khan said he used to work in Qatar, but had come home three days back.
The criminal had entered into the house by cutting the iron rod of the ventilator for committing the burglary.
OC, Bistupur police station, Srineewash confirmed about the crime at Dhatkidih in Bistupur.”We have received the complaint of the burglary and trying to detect the case,” said the OC while.
According to police sources, whoever might have committed the burglary, he must have knowledge about the whole building and the families residing there.
Despite claims from the district police the cases of the thefts are on the rise. Steps have been taken by the police administration needs to curb menace by taking measures like night patrolling and installation of barricades where police officials keep strict vigilance. Though the police claim to have pulled their socks up and increased their beat patrolling, the citizens are not ready to accept the claims.
