Jamshedpur : More than 4000 participants will join at the Gopal Maidan in Bistupur on the occasion of International Yoga Day on June 21. The event will be organised by East Singhbhum district administration for one hour from 6.30 am to 7.30 am on June 21.
Deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum Amit Kumar led a meeting with government officials of different departments and social organisations in his office and directed them to make the International Yoga Day a grand success here.
The main programme on International Yoga Day will beorganised at the Gopal Maidan, Bistupur between 6:30 am and 7:30 am.
The East Singhbhum district education officer (DEO), Shivendra Kumar have been asked to mobilise school students of class VII and above to participate in the yoga day at the Gopal Maidan. Students of various colleges have also been asked to participate on the day.
Various sadar hospitals and PRI members at the block level have also been directed to organise and celebrate the International Yoga Day.
This event is open for all irrespective of age or gender. A lot of organizations in the city are encouraging women to be a part of the function. “Yoga as a practice is for everybody and we want all yoga enthusiasts to be a part of this gala event. Amenities like defined sectors, separate queues and toilets for men and women will be provided at the venue,” said an official.
The East Singhbhum district education department has also directed all government schools to perform the 33-minute yoga session. Private English medium schools are also planning to ask children and teachers to promote yoga for a healthy life. The district education department have already received directives from the central government to let children perform yoga on the day.
It is healthy and most of the institutions and organisation in the city will celebrate the International Yoga Day on June 21.
