Jamshedpur, March 19 : East Singhbhum district administration is all set to place a high security arrangement with a special focus on religious songs and bike stunts during the 10-day long Ramnavami.
In an over three-hour long meeting attended by peace committee members and representatives various Ramnavami akharas committees at SNTI Auditorium in Bistupur, East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Amit Kumar, said that administration would be issuing notices to all the DJ operators and amplifiers about strict action if inflammatory songs are played and CCTV footages will be done to identify trouble mongers and those indulging in rash driving or bike stunts during procession for action against them after the procession.
“We are in the process of preparing a list of public amplifiers and DJ operators at police station level and notices will be issued within a day or two to each of them about stern action against them if objectionable songs are played during the procession. Focus will be on rash driving or bike stunts during the procession identified on the basis of video shots, CCTV and drone footages will have the local police station taking action against the perpetrators,” said Amit Kumar.
The deputy commissioner also asked akharas committee to submit a list of such areas with hanging electricity wires to help JUVNL officials in installing guard wires on such points. The administration is serious in ensuring first aid and ambulance services during the festivity and the procession.
At the Sakchiisland, a watchtower would be erected to keep vigil onthe movement of Ram Navami processions passing through the area.
A police officer said that all police stations have been asked to interact with local akharas committee on a regular basis for a peaceful festival.
District administration has fallen back on corporate help to tide over water exigencies during Ramnavami festival earlier it was only Jusco who was asked to provide water through tankers to various akharas taking out Ramnavami processions.
But this time different corporate sectors have been asked to provide water tankers for water supply in their nearby areas.
The administration also directed the 209 akhara committees to ensure that the procession is completed by 8 pm on March 26.
“All the akharas committee senior officials have been asked to submit a list of 10-12 active members names and contact numbers to their respective local thana officials along with their responsibility like operating of music, managing traffic etc,’ said SSP East Singhbhum Anoo pBirtharay.
The administration also asked the akhara committees to coordinate amongst themselves and compile a list of devotional songs and distribute it amongst themselves in a pendrive and play only those songs.
JNAC special officer, Sanjay Kumar Pandey said that they would be issuing a whatsapp and helpline number for immediate redress of akharas committee problem relating to civic issues.
