Jamshedpur: Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur East observed ‘World Population Day’ at Parivar Kalyan Sansthan, Telco on Thursday.

Chief speaker for the event Dr. Supriya gave presentation on ever increasing population of our country and how it can affect the growth of India. She spoke at length about the issues pregnant mothers face due to illiteracy, child marriage, falling pregnant at an early age.

Dr. Supriya made the women aware about family planning and asked them to use contraceptives and other birth control procedures. Dr. Neelam spoke about sterilization and how one can undergo operation totally free of cost at Tata Motors Hospital. Contract workers from Tata Motors, nurses from Jivan Jyoti Nursing School also attended the programme.

Club members Nilima Prakash, Manjari Bhattacharya, Meena Mukherjee, Sonali Mohanty, Dr. Neelam Tatha, Dr. Jyoti and others were present.
