Jamshedpur: Husband of international archer Jhanu Hansda’s husband Nimai Kiran Hansda (39), died on Wednesday. He was a resident of Kadama and was admitted at the Tata Main Hospital (TMH) in March with complains of brain haemorrhage. He was sent to Kolkata for treatment after the situation became critical.
He was recovering, but was rushed to a medical hospital at Adityapur on June 1 after a sudden deterioration. He breathed his last on Wednesday morning. Originally a resident of Matladih, Nimai worked in a private company in Joda.
Jhanu Hansda under Jharkhand Police is currently posted as Inspector in Tatanagar Railway Police. Hansda, who is a three-time champion in the World Police and Fire Games Archery for three consecutive years from 2012 to 2015, has several national and international titles.
In the National Ranking Archery held in Jamshedpur in 2006, Jhanu scored a new world record by scoring 1405 points. In 2007, at the Asian Archery Championships held in Beijing, China, Jhanu won a bronze in the compound archery team event and a silver medal in the individual event.
