Campaign intensifies at Ichargarh, candidates toil hard in padyatras
Jamshedpur: Candidates are toiling hard in padyatras and interacting with voters during campaigning for Ichagarh assembly seat in the neighbouring Seraikela-Kharsawan district under Ranchi parliamentary constituency.
The constituency which is witnessing contest between BJP sitting MLA Sadhu Charan Mahato, JMM’s Sabita Mahato, Ajsu’s Hare Lal Mahato and Independent Arvind Kumar Singh saw most of the candidates undertaking padyatra with campaigning set to conclude tomorrow 3 pm.
Sabita Mahato (45) along with his daughter Sneha Mahato (19) held separate padyatras as part of strategy to get in touch with more number of masses before end of election campaigning.
“ I am grateful for the support I am getting. Our government will give to every poor Rs 3 lakh for construction of house, our government will provide free education to girls till they continue education.,” said Sabita Mahato while interacting voters.
Significantly, Sabita’s husband and former Jharkhand deputy CM Sudhir Mahato had represented Ichagarh in 1990 and 2005 and had died in January 2014 due to massive heart attack at Ghatshila in East Singhbhum.
Sitting MLA, Sadhu Charan Mahato today conducted padyatra in Khukru haat in Chandil block of the Ichagarh assembly constituency. “ People are with us. In my tenure I have constructed 450 km of road, 500 minor ponds and provided electricity in 175 villages,” said Sadhu Charan Mahato while interacting with villagers at Chandil.
