Jamshedpur, Sept. 24: The district health department has issued an order making it mandatory for people working at hotels and restaurants to undergo a rapid antigen test for COVID-19. The order has been issued under the Disaster Management Act and COVID-19 Regulations. The two-day drive will start from September 25.
As per the plans, staff of hotels and restaurants located under Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee ( JNAC) and Mango Notified Area Committee ( MNAC) will have to undergo the tests. The department has set up collection centres at Hotel Ramada, Hotel Ginger, Kerala Samjam Model School, Kadma Market, South Point School, and RBS School.
During the two-day drive they plan to conduct 1000 tests of hotel and restaurants staff. They have also come up with six collection centres for the drive. In the first phase they plan to cover big hotels and restaurants after which others will be covered. The administration has set a target to conduct more COVID-19 tests, he said adding the direction for compulsory tests was in that regard.
