Gamharia: Members of the Adivasi Kurmi Samaj paid floral tributes to the spearhead of the Jharkhand movement, Binod Bihari Mahto in a programme organized at Kandra. The Kurmi Samaj leaders and members offered floral tributes before a portrait of the Jharkhand Andolankari. State president of Adivasi Kurmi Samaj Sanyukt Mahto described Binod Bihari Mahto as a leading figure who spearheaded the move for a separate Jharkhand state. “He was highly inspirational and motivated the children of the soil. On his call, the youth force united and struggled for a separate statehood for the Adivasis and Moolvasis. He was the revolutionary who pioneered the formation of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and he was the man who launched the Jharkhand revolution.”
Others who attended the homage ceremony included Sudhir Mahto, Manoj Tinguwar, Astik Mahto, Vinay Mahto, Chhavi Mahto, Rajesh Mahto, Vrinda Mahto, Ajay Mahto, Balram Mahto, Rupesh Mahto, Rajdev Mahto and other members of the Adivasi Kurmi Samaj.
