Jamshedpur, Feb. 12: Anjishnu Satpathy, a student of class eight of Hill Top School Jamshedpur has been selected to visit the Kennedy Space Center, NASA, USA. He topped the Kalpana Chawla National Scholar (KCNS) exam held by educharya.com in December last year.

The exam included an online test and then a rapid fire round through video conferencing. Anjishnucame out with flying colours in both the rounds and is among the top 21 students across India who have topped the KCNS exam. He will now visit NASA.

The Hill Top School principal, Puneeta B Chouhan congratulated Anjishnu and his parents for this astonishing achievement. “The experience of being at NASA to watch scientists at close quarters is going to be a life changing experience for our student. Anjishnu is a quiet, sincere and persevering boy. He is a high achiever indeed. We are all proud of him”, she said.

Anjishnu is very focussed on his career and wants to grow up to be an Astrophysicist with Stephen Hawkins as his idol. Anjishnu is also inclined to classical music and follows his passion persistently.

The KCNS exam is one of a kind online exam for students from 5th to 9th grade for ICSE, CBSE and state board students, aimed at identifying budding talent at the school level itself. The KCNS exam provides an amazing platform for students with international exposure and path breaking prizes.

Through the KCNS exam 84 students across four categories received different categories of awards, where the Top 21 winners get a chance to visit KSC, NASA this summer, while the next 21 (2nd level of winners) receive Rs. 1 lakh each, and the next 21 (3rd level of winners) will get Rs. 51,000/- each and next 21 (4th level of winners) will get Rs. 21,000/- each.

A total of four students of Hill Top School had earlier made it into the top 145 shortlisted students, out of whom AnjishnuSatpathy made it to the Top 21. The other three students from Hill Top School among the meritorious 145 are Aditya Ranjan of Class 7, SulagnaBasak of Class 6 & Aditya Yash Raj of Class 9.
