Jamshedpur No Comments on Government to help revive industries in Jharkhand: CM 8

Jamshedpur: Amid the gloomy industrial scenario in the State the Chief Minister Hemant Soren today promised that steps would be taken to promote industry in the State and Government too is concerned over the prevailing situation.

The CM, who was in the city to participate in the birth anniversary celebration of slain JMM leader Nirmal Mahato, was addressing the media at local circuit house.

When questioned over the ongoing shut down at Tata Motors and plans of the auto major to shift production to Uttrakhand, Soren said that his Government will not allow the companies to shift to other states but will work to promote them to flourish here only. “We are working on a strategy to promote the industry. The department is working on sops to boost the sector. I cannot divulge the details but will work to promote them,” said Soren.

“We want to promote Jharkhand as the manufacturing hub. We want to move ahead with this vision,” noted Soren.

He also appealed to the industries to change their strategy and incorporate positive initiatives in their investment plan. Industry needs to make value addition to the raw minerals and absorb local people in job through skill development, he stated.

He went on to add that the move will serve duel purpose for the administration, on one hand it will ensure hassle free availability of land on the other hand it would also make the administration update with the availability of land for industrial and other purposes as and when required he added.

“Our natural resources are reducing due to rampant use of the mines and industrial growth. However we have failed to ensure progress of the local tribals and their participation in the production and this has led to social unrest,” he said. “It’s time to correct the strategy and ensure balanced and all round growth of the state,” the CM noted.
