Jamshedpur, May 22: Panic has gripped Seraikela Kharswan district with fresh four cases being reported in last three days. The administrative machinery has come into action with cases rising everyday. Two students have been tested positive of Covid-19 at Chandil. Moreover, the entire Teacher’s Colony sealed after fresh cases were reported. Moreover, about 30 persons who came in touch with them have been quarantined.
Meanwhile, the administrative machinery of East Singhbhum district centered on protocols for containment zones in Govindpur, around 13 km south of Jamshedpur, after a total of six Covid-19 positive cases, all from the same family, were detected in the area.
Sources in the district surveillance unit informed that an asymptomatic girl who had undergone operation in Delhi had returned to Jamshedpur during the lockdown and was advised home quarantine last week.
“The surveillance unit had collected her sample along with her parents, sister, brother-in-law, their child and grandfather. In the afternoon, the girl and her parents report came positive while in the night samples of three more members of the family were found to be positive. The girl had stayed in her house for five days before being shifted to MGM Hospital isolation. All the positive cases in Govindpur have been shifted to Tata Main Hospital Covid ward,” said the surveillance unit source.
Meanwhile, several volunteers supplied essentials in the containment zones at Govindpur, around 13 km south of Jamshedpur on Friday.
A team of volunteers drawn from civil defence and local NGOs with face masks and gloves were positioned at the control room set up under the supervision of Jamshedpur circle officer, Anurag Tiwary at Govindpur to deliver food grains, other edible items and other essential items to households.
“We do not want the local people to suffer and have ensured everything for their help. In the containment zones we have identified 49 families with 178 members. A team of 15 volunteers on roster basis who are deployed at the control room. A four-member team comprising health professionals and teachers have been deployed on roster basis 24×7 and any residing member of the containment zones can call the control room to get the essential goods delivered at their houses,” said Anurag Tiwary.
Meanwhile, the entire Tatanagar Station premises right from platform number one to Station parking bay has been divided into 13 sectors and three zones with magistrates and security personnel deputed for assistance and ensuring health protocols for Covid-19 amongst migrant workers.
