Jamshedpur, Dec. 11: Police on Monday sent a 40-year-old man to Seraikela divisional jail after arresting him for killing his 14-year-old daughter at his house in Kapali near Mango under Chandilpolice station area two months ago.The man, Jaffar Hussain, allegedly killed his daughter MuskanPerveen as she was not good in studies.

The police arrested Hussain, a father of three children, Muskan being the eldest one, after unearthing the victim’s body from the courtyard of his house late last night.Muskan would was a student of class V in a local Urdu medium school at Azadnagar in the adjoining Mango.

OC, Kapalipolice station out-post (TOP), Lal Bihari Prasad said that they arrested accused who is a fruit vendor, after searching for Muskan who was missing from the house since the past two months. He said the victim’s mother SaheenPerveen had lodged a missing person report with the Kapali TOP in October though later she had expressed her suspicion that her daughter might have been murdered.

” We were able to crack the case after thorough investigation. After Muskan disappeared two months ago, Hussain would console his wife Saheen that she must have gone somewhere and return home. A week ago there was a quarrel between Hussain and wife Saheen over the whereabouts of Muskan. During an altercation between the two, Hussain had out of rage said that he would kill Saheen like he did to Muskan. Taking Hussain’s words seriously Saheen had contacted the police and expressed her fear that Muskan might have been murdered,” said the Kapali OC.

” We were keeping an eye on Hussain. Incidentally, he came across a police party on Sunday afternoon when he tried to escape. But we nabbed him and interrogated. We got some clues and started searching the body and saw cemented floor which had been dug freshly. On removing the debris we found the body,” said the police officer.

As the body was to be taken out, the police had asked the administration for deputing a magistrate. The body was unearthed in presence of the magistrate. As soon as the body was recovered, Hussain was taken into custody.
