Seraikela: Vishwanath Rath, the former president of the District Bar Association, died of a heart attack in the early hours of Wednesday. Seventy six -year-old senior advocate Late Vishwanath Rath was President of the District Bar Association four times and Secretary three times. In the same sequence, he was also the Deputy Chairman of the Government of Jharkhand Minorities Commission from the year 2006 to 2009.

On hearing the news of his untimely demise on Wednesday morning at 5.10 am, there was a wave of mourning in Seraikela. After which people started arriving at his residence in Sathua Colony for his last visit. In which local philanthropist Jalesh Kavi and other dignitaries were also involved. After which, the autopsy was carried out with social distancing. The last rites were performed at the crematorium ghat in Kudrasai while offering prayers by his nephew Kunal Rath. Late Vishwanath was the life of the joint family: – It is said that he had united the joint family with 6 brothers and three sisters. In which only one brother and one sister are left after his death.

In addition to the wife in the family, the entire joint family including a son and two daughters are left behind. Being in America, his son could not attend his last visit and journey. Bar Association organized condolence meeting: – A condolence meeting was organized under the aegis of the District Bar Association at the Bar Bhawan in Seraikela. Under the chairmanship of Prabhat Kumar, the vice president of the association, a 2-minute silence was observed by the advocates praying for the peace of the departed soul.

On the occasion, the vice president said that late Vishwanath was a lawyer with a very vocal personality. Advocate Jales Kavi said that riding on the chariot of Seraikela Bar, he did the work of taking forward all the advocates like a chariot.
