KU to introduce 11 text books on Ol Chiki and Varang Chiti script
Governor Mumru presides over 3rd convocation of Kolhan University
Jamshedpur, Dec. 5: Kolhan University (KU) celebrated its 3rd convocation at Tata College Ground in Chaibasa on Tuesday. Jharkhand Governor cum Chancellor of the university, Draupadi Murmu inaugurated the grand convocation with Shobha Yatra and by lighting the auspicious lamp.
While addressing the alumni, the Chancellor said that real test of your knowledge start just after the convocation. A true student is he who is inspired by the welfare of nationalistic sentiment and humanity. I repose faith on you that you are the true vanguard of global humanity.
Chancellor also said that the Kolhan University is located in tribal dominated area surrounded by natural environment. In the context it is the sole responsibility of the university to provide higher education with quality. University has also started second shift classes.
The goal of education is not only to confer degree but also it should inculcate the nature of kindness. Chancellor emphasized that in the present phase of globalization, employment based education is necessary and I am glad that Kolhan university’s M.Ed and MBA syllabus are formed under self financing courses. She further said that Odia language has been introduced and teachers will be appointed soon.
Chancellor further said that, ‘Sincere efforts have been made to appoint teachers in the school as we cannot play with the future of our students. I wish that my students should be transformed from Job Seeker to Job creator. The relationship between teachers and students should be respectable based on moral values’.
Chancellor Murmu pointed out that research work should be done and there should not be cut and paste system. Innovation must be developed in students for that we must promote academician and research work.
Chancellor mentioned university is going to introduce 11 text books on Ol Chiki and Varang Chiti script. Virtual class room and digital language lab are good steps as by introducing the digital system in universities we can easily implement the system of digital India. Digital can help in registration, online result publication, nomination etc. Central human resource ministry has initiated Swayam Prabha free syllabus and research scholar are taking benefit from it.
Tata College and Jamshedpur Cooperative College are being developed. University should give more importance to qualitative research work as this is the age of globalization and technically people are coming closer and universities must take advantage of it. The students must have the ability to read the pulse of present phase and must take advantage of higher education. Chancellor expressed expectation from the students that they will archive patent in tribal areas herbal plants.
Governor greeted the students with golden future and expressed hope to make Jharkhand a grand state. Vice Chancellor Dr Shukla Mahanty in her welcome speech said that Governor has always taken care of Kolhan University which is the reason it is flourishing in length and breadth under her supervision. Present on the occasion were MLA Menka Sardar, DC Arav Raj Kamal, SP Anish Gupta and a large number of Alumni .
