Jamshedpur, March 5: District Commissioner and Electoral Officer, Dr. Amitabh Kaushal on Wednesday said that the elections will be held in three phases in Jharkhand, while for Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat the Election Commission has set April 17 as the date. Along with this in Giridih, Ranchi, Singhbhum (Chaibasa) and Khunti the election will be held on April 17. DC was talking to the media persons at his office on Wednesday. Dr. Kaushal said that the notification at district level will be issued on March 19 and on the same date the candidates can buy and submit the nomination form. The last date for the submission of nomination form will be March 26. The submitted nomination forms will be checked on April 27 while any candidate can withdraw on March 29.
DC said that to make elections successful district and police administration have started their preparations and keeping security in mind task are being made. DC further said that we will be writing a letter on Thursday to the election commission to sent the election materials as early as possible. At the press meet SSP AV Homkar, ADM Balkishun Munda, Election incharge Anil rai, Geeta Choubey and DPRO Avinash Kumar were present. The work of adding names and correcting them in Voter cards is in progress while after March 19 the work will be stopped.
Keeping elections in mind the banners , hoardings put up in different locations of the city will be removed. To have maximum turn out on polling day awareness program will be held specially for 18 to 20 yaers new voters.
