Jamshedpur: e-National Agriculture Market (NAM) Day was celebrated in Bhatin village of Potka on Saturday to mark the completion of two years since the commencement of e-NAM scheme. The secretary of the Krishi Bazar Samiti Sanjay Kashyam gave letters of appreciation to 20 progressive farmers including Khelaram Murmu.
Speaking on the occasion, Khelaram Murmu said he earns around Rs 2000 by selling vegetables on a daily basis. He said he is able to reap the benefit of farming through the e-portal. He said there was a good market for his green vegetables.
Addressing the farmers, Kashyam said the farmers could get the right price for their produce through e-trading. He said the web portal could be used by the farmers to double their income. He said around 1600 farmers and 20 traders were linked to the porta.
Many farmers were present on the occasion.
