Jamshedpur, Nov. 27 : Xavier School of Management( XLRI) is all set to organise the 27th ‘Annual JRD Tata Oration on Business Ethics’ on November 29at XLRI campus.
Dr. Jennifer J Griffin – Raymond C Baumhart, S.J., Professor of Business Ethics and Professor of Strategy, Loyola University Chicago, USA would deliver the oration on the topic ‘Ethics in Action: Corporate Social Responsibility in the 21st Century’.
Fr. E Abraham, S. J. Director of XLRI commented, “XLRI has always placed in the forefront, the importance of pursuing an ethical code of conduct in the corporate world. We believe that no management education curriculum is really complete, unless and until the students are instilled with a set of abiding values and ethics – that are indispensable ingredients for any aspiring business leader in today’s world.
XLRI is the first B-school in the country to introduce a core course on ‘Managerial Ethics’ for both its HRM and BM programmes. Each year, XLRI confers a medal on the best student in Managerial Ethics at the institute’s annual convocation.”
Dr. Jennifer J. Griffin is Professor of Strategy and the Raymond C. Baumhart, S.J. Professor of Business Ethics at Loyola University Chicago’s Quinlan School of Business (Chicago, IL). Award-winning author of the Academy of Management 2017 SIM Best Book Award, for her Cambridge University Press book, Managing Corporate Impacts: Co-Creating Value.
She has received numerous research awards and grants including the IABS Best Paper Award in 20 Years for a co-authored article, ‘Corporate Social Performance and Corporate Financial Performance: Twenty-Five years of Incomparable Research.’ It remains among the most cited articles in Business & Society.
Her research is published in multiple disciplines: Public Administration Review, Business & Society, Journal of Business Ethics, Group & Organization Management, Business & Politics, Corporate Reputation Review, Journal of Public Affairs, Business Ethics: An European Review, and Public Relations Quarterly, among others.
Co-author of case studies on social entrepreneurship, she has published book chapters for the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education (UN PRME) series, the Doing Well by Doing Good series, the Handbook for Public Affairs, and The Accountable Corporation series, among others. Dr. Griffin is also an associate editor of Business & Society and a senior editor of the Oxford Research Encyclopedia.
