Jamshedpur: Social organization Jan Satyagrah (JS) has demanded that like two-wheelers, motor cars, auto rickshaws and heavy vehicles should also have their insurance papers, fitness certificate, tax tokens, permits, driving license, pollution certificates checked for traffic safety. A memorandum to the effect was handed to the DC and copies thereof to the SSP and SDO.
The memorandum included dress code for auto, bus and heavy vehicle drivers, banning of music system from auto-rickshaws, and making it compulsory for heavy vehicles to have two drivers. JS has contended that dress codes would put a check on learner-drivers plying vehicles on roads thereby preventing accidents.
The JS members who handed thememorandum to the DC included Manjit Kumar Mishra, Rajvardhan Singh, Durga Prasad, Satyendra Sharma, Ravi Raj, Anil Singh, Jit Arya, Mahesh Paswan, S Tabrez Khan, Pappu Yadav, Pradip Jha and others.
