Jamshedpur, March 17: Deputy Commissioner East Singhbhum, Ravi Shankar Shukla today took stock of the preparedness to combat the spread of pandemic Coronavirus. He visited Tata Main Hospital where an Isolation ward has been put in place. In the course of his inspection, Shukla spoke to the medical staff deputed in the Isolation Ward and gave necessary directives.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, the DC said that all protective and curative measures were being put in place as per central and state governments’ directives in the matter.
The DC informed that the district administration had issued directives for passengers coming into the city from other places at the Bus Stand. Officials of the City management had been directed to ensure immaculate cleanliness in and around the city bus stand.
It may be mentioned here that 49 Isolation beds have been put up in six hospitals in the district that include TMH (15 beds), Sadar Hospital (four beds), MGM Hospital (10 beds), Mercy Hospital (six beds), Tata Motors Hospital (10 beds) and Tinplate Hospital (four beds).
Masks are necessary only for people who are infected and doctors and medical staff treating them. The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Civil Surgeon Dr Maheshwar Prasad and DPRO Rohit Kumar.
