Jamshedpur: A cultural programme was organized at Ravindra Bhavan, Sakchi, in the commemoration of Kaviguru and Nobel Laureate Ravindra Nath Tagore on the occasion of his 77th death anniversary. It began with plantation on the premises of Ravindra Bhavan. The chief guest of the occasion was Dhananjay Mishra, senior GM, JUSCO.

In his address, the chief guest said plantation is an inspirational activity in the present times. He said JUSCO had created a clean and green environment in the city with the help of the people.

Dr HS Paul, president of Tagore Society, also present during the programme, said Kaviguru has been known as a poet of Nature. Tagore’s creations suit every season and time, he said.

Many dignitaries were present on the occasion. The chief guest unveiled a wall magazine on the occasion. A blood donation camp was also held today. The teachers and parents participated in the camp.

Ashish Chowdhury, general secretary of Tagore Society, said drawing inspiration from Tagore’s creations was the main objective of the event.
