Chaibasa: The work done for the affected families in the area of Roro mines lying closed under West Singhbhum was reviewed today through a video conference headed by the Chief Secretary of the Government of Jharkhand.  In a review conducted through video conference, Commissioner Kolhan Divisional Manish Ranjan, Deputy Commissioner of West Singhbhum Arva Rajkamal and other officials were present.

Giving information about the video conference, District Deputy Commissioner Arva Rajkamal said that the subject of Roro mines area is under consideration of National Green Tribunal (NGT). Accordingly, in the light of the order of the Chief Secretary  Regional Committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of the Commissioner of the Division.  A two-day camp was organized in the area of Roro mines in the last month. In the said camp, 448 numbers related to the Provident Fund of the company have been received as per the Claim format and some applications have also been received for pension. All regional provident funds have been forwarded to the commissioner.

The Deputy Commissioner said that many other basic and infrastructural works like water towers, PCC road construction works have also started in the area. A display board has also been installed at the said venue. After doing the primary work, there will be the task of renovation of the area. Through the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI), an important environmentally friendly institution in the country and working in the field of environmental engineering, we will move towards completely reclamation of the entire RORO mines sector. * The Chief Secretary has been instructed to make a DPR for the necessary works to create a clean environment in the area.
